Education: Syrious Angels: Holland Redt Syrië (theatre play)
Location: Sorghvliet gymnasium, The Hague
‘Holland saves Syria’ is a 35-minute theatre piece devised by director Isil Vos. The performance deals with a very topical and precarious subject, namely the help offered by aid organisations to refugees and people affected by the Syrian civil war. The acting is in the hands of Noël S. Keulen and Willemijn Haasken. In the play, they play the characters Berend Bos and Lieke Bauhaus and present themselves as aid organisation Syrious Angels.
Apart from performances on De Parade in Rotterdam (19/6 to 22/6) and The Hague (11/7 to 13/7), Syrious Angels also made a school performance for pupils from class 4 VO plus a workshop afterwards. The performance was completely adapted to current events to include the harrowing situation with IS and performed at the Sorghvliet gymnasium for a very enthusiastic and committed group of over 80 students and their teachers.
Part of See You in The Hague, a programme that focuses on the ambition and reality of The Hague as an international city of Peace and Law, made visible and experienceable through exhibitions, art projects, lectures, debates, and workshops.
