Studio visits Eefje Ludwig and Michelle Kasprzak
Op maandag 9 (beiden), donderdag 12 (Eefje) en vrijdag 13 mei (Michelle) a.s. zullen Eefje Ludwig en Michelle Kasprzak, gastcuratoren Noorderlicht Internationaal Fotofestival 2023 ieder een aantal atelierbezoeken afleggen bij kunstenaars in Den Haag.

Als je geïnteresseerd bent in een atelierbezoek van Eefje Ludwig of Michelle Kasprzak kun je dat tot en met maandag 25 april 2022 laten weten. De binnengekomen reacties worden samen met eventuele suggesties vanuit Stroom aan de curatoren voorgelegd. Uit de lijst zullen zij een keuze maken op basis waarvan het bezoekprogramma zal worden samengesteld. Je ontvangt alleen een bericht wanneer je door de curatoren bent geselecteerd voor een atelierbezoek.
Beknopte biografieën
Eefje Ludwig (b. 1982) is an independent Dutch photography curator, mentor and advisor currently based in The Netherlands. She holds a Masters in Educational Sciences (University of Amsterdam, 2006) and studied photography at the Institut Catalan d'Estudis Fotogràfics in Barcelona, Spain. From 2008 till 2016 she worked as a project manager and a manager of the education department at World Press Photo. During those years she developed, fundraised, coordinated and curated different training projects, publications and exhibitions in the field of photojournalism and visual storytelling in the Middle-East, Africa and Latin America. For many years she led the Joop Swart Masterclass. Since she started working indepently in 2016 she collaborated with PHmuseum as the Education Manager and Curator, was Artistic Director of Festival Photoreporter en Baie de Saint-Brieuc in 2017, is founding member of the Transformations project as well as the international photographers' collective and agency MAPS. More recently she assisted in curating the retrospective show and accompanying catalog of Chas Gerretsen in collaboration with the Nederlands Fotomuseum (2021). She is currently working as a guestcurator for Noorderlicht Festival 2023. In 2019 she founded The Forest Bathing Circle aiming to reconnect people to nature through artistic expressions and nature connection practices. She has been a member of different juries and nominating committees. Next to that she mentors photographers from around the world, aiming to support them in their careers and bringing out to the world stories that matter
Michelle Kasprzak is an established contributor to the field of digital culture as a curator, educator, writer, and artist. Michelle has curated exhibitions and public programmes for organizations such as Future Flux Festival, V2_ Institute for Unstable Media, the Dutch Electronic Art Festival, ZERO1 Biennial, Cornerhouse, New Media Scotland, and others. Her writing has appeared in HOLO, Volume, Public, Spacing, Rhizome, and numerous exhibition catalogues. She is a sought-after moderator and event host, working most recently with Rietveld Academie/Sandberg Instituut (Amsterdam) and The New Institute (Rotterdam). Currently Michelle is Guest Curator at the Noorderlicht Festival 2023, Research Lecturer at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, and supervising graduating students at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. She has also designed and delivered courses for Master's students, at both Design Academy Eindhoven and the Piet Zwart Institute (Rotterdam). She also co-edits Commissioned Critique, an essay series for the Sandberg Instituut, with Rosa te Velde. Michelle recently completed her PhD in Digital Media within the UT Austin | Portugal CoLab (supervisors: Sandra Silva (University of Porto) and Chris Csíkszentmihályi (Cornell University).
