Fashion connoisseur, lecturer and curator Hanka van der Voet argues that critical reflection within fashion is urgent as the fashion industry is changing drastically and existing platforms approach fashion as a means of consumption. In response, she initiated a new fashion platform entitled 'Press & Fold | Notes on making and doing fashion', with which Van der Voet aimed to shift the focus to the meaning of clothing and to develop a versatile visual and textual language that is in line with the transition of the fashion system. The content for the magazine is collected from the network and through open calls under the supervision of an advisory board. A link is also being sought with the (fashion) education of RMIT in Melbourne, the London College of Fashion and ArtEZ in Arnhem; various cultural institutions that organize fashion and design exhibitions; and platforms such as State of Fashion 201
