Zefir7 is the Monthly Designers Café at Stroom Den Haag in collaboration with BNO. This edition features Foundation We Are. They will address the question and topic: Who is responsible for societal impact? Social design - navigation through practice. Presented by Karen van Luttervelt and one or more collective members.

Foundation We Are is an Eindhoven-based design collective that works on societal topics. The foundation originated out of their initial exploratory research project which connected designers to human rights defenders and saw them collectively address the various topics of human rights. Working in this collaborative way both questioned and affirmed the role design has and could (or should) take within the topics of peace and justice.
Foundation We Are continued its activities with the belief that designers combined with various fields of knowledge could bring about a lot of insides and value. Currently, Foundation We Are operates as a fluid group of designers that bring their own expertise and creativity to a range of social topics.

The Zefir7 evening will be an opportunity for Foundation We Are to reflect on their work and the role their practice took in relation to peace and justice. With a critical look, the evening will address and discuss the idea that collaboration between designers and experts can open up new ways of approaching societal issues. By sharing insights and exploring gained experiences and learned lessons, the evening will be opened for a reflective conversation around possible creative actions on (global) social issues.
