Workshops during Festival De Betovering 2014

From 17 to 26 October, the Netherlands' best autumn holiday starts again! During these two weeks, The Hague hosts Festival De Betovering for children aged 2 to 12 and their parents. This festival consists of over 300 performances and workshops from home and abroad, spread over more than 40 theatres, libraries and museums! Stroom Den Haag also organises three workshops during De Betovering, for children aged 9 and up.

The Children's Identity Archive

with Laura Abbink

Location: due to the autumn weather moved to EXO, Nieuwe Molstraat 14, The Hague

Monday 20 - Thursday 23 October 2014

Start: 10:00 a.m.

On the green strip opposite the entrance to Omniversum stands the artwork ‘Scaffold’ by American artist Sam Durant. It looks like a kind of climbing apparatus and stage at the same time. The Children's Identity Archive workshop was planned here. However, due to the autumn weather, the venue has been moved to EXO, Nieuwe Molstraat 14. The workshop is about the freedom to be who you are. Who am I, who are you, who are we! For this workshop, bring something that is all yours! You will actually build an archive!

Making Japanese kites

with Paul Bruijninckx

Location: moved to EXO, Nieuwe Molstraat 14, The Hague, due to autumn weather

Monday 20 to Thursday 23 October 2014

Starts at 13:30

This workshop was originally also scheduled at the artwork ‘Scaffold’ (see above), but has also been moved to the new location EXO, Nieuwe Molstraat 14, due to autumn weather. Together with artist Paul Bruijninckx, you will make ‘Japanese kites’ as a symbol of freedom of thought and expression.

Making pedestal animals

Location: gathering at Theater aan het Spui, Spui 187, The Hague

Monday 20 to Friday 24 October 2014

Start: 10:00 a.m.

In the middle of the city stands the Sculpture Gallery: a collection of beautiful and funny sculptures. You almost run into them when you go shopping or visit the cinema. But this collection is not yet complete! Artist Christien Rijnsdorp and art teacher Trudi de Heer will take you along the Sculpture Gallery and then you will make your own ‘Sokkelbeest’ at EXO in Nieuwe Molstraat 14. Afterwards, the self-made Sokkelbeests will be exhibited until 27 October in the Central Library, Spui 68.

Idea: Wieke Terpstra.
