Raul Ortega Ayala: ‘The Last Supper’ During the first Museumnacht Den Haag, Stroom Den Haag presented the performance 'The Last Supper', in which the boundaries between the earthly and the sacred were explored. The first visitors at Stroom were invited by Mexican artist Raul Ortega Ayala to sit at the table and were given a unique opportunity to partake in the Last Supper. The 'exact' meal was served, including the associated rituals, based on research by food historian Daniel Rogov, as Christ and his Apostles must have enjoyed it. It was not a solemn gathering, but a relaxed or even rowdy evening... The public was welcome to observe this scene. The Supper was filmed, and the edited version of this video, along with the remnants of the meal, formed part of the exhibition 'Living Remains' by Raul Ortega Ayala (September 11 to November 7, 2010, at Stroom Den Haag).

Museumnacht Den Haag
After the success of the Museumnacht in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, it was time for the Haagse Museumnacht. The Hague has numerous interesting museums and many art and culture enthusiasts. This provided the perfect opportunity for a grand event: culture mixed with over 20 participants, including museums and galleries, as well as the Royal Library, the Dutch Parliament, Pulchri, and Stroom Den Haag. All opened their doors from 7:30 PM and stayed open until late into the night. Each location offered a unique program that matched the theme of the night: Mix it, don't miss it.

Inspiration
The concept of Museumnacht has already been a successful formula and source of inspiration in other cities. The Hague’s Museumnacht provides an opportunity for young people to experience the city’s museums in an accessible and unique way. It also stimulates cooperation between museums and businesses. In the long term, Museumnacht Den Haag is a great new initiative that contributes to the realization of The Hague’s ambition to become the European Capital of Culture in 2018.
