Multi-year program: Networks of Embodiment 2024 - present
Networks of Embodiment is a multi-year program by Stroom Den Haag that uses art as a means to reflect on social transformation. In collaboration with artists, we explore how society can navigate global challenges such as climate change, technological developments, and social inequality.
Artists play a central role in this process by challenging our collective imagination, making a complex and unpredictable reality tangible and emotionally resonant. The program creates space for reflection, experimentation, and collaboration, connecting local experiences to global issues. It centers on embodied knowledge, ecological interconnectedness, technological ethics, and social justice.
The public program unfolds along two thematic lines:
No Word for Nature
Focusing on ecology, Indigenous knowledge systems, and community-oriented approaches.Entangled Codes
Examining the balance between technology, humanity, and public space.
With an emphasis on translocality, inclusion, and collaboration, Networks of Embodiment contributes to new imaginaries for a more sustainable and inclusive society — offering tools and perspectives for action in a rapidly changing world.
