Wijnanda Deroo, 1996

Location: Johan de Witt College, Hooftskade, The Hague

The open roof terrace of the annex of the Johan de Witt College (Hooftskade), where 450 students of over 30 nationalities follow vocational training, is the only place where the students can go outside during class periods. Wijnanda Deroo designed four pavilions constructed of steel with red and blue skylights. The walls above the benches consist of transparent photomontages.

She photographed still lifes of objects brought by the students and combined them - also in color - with (New York) street images.
