Mariska de Groot, 'BROM' - Vita Kuben, Zweden

Finding an old spinning choral humming top at a flea market ignited the spark of what soon would become the installation, BROM. Mariska de Groot's fascination with the colorful children's toy turned into an in-depth research of the toy's melodies, patents and history. At Vita Kuben, De Groot's work now hums its own melody in a full choir of motorized spinning tops. As part of the SUPERORGANISMS series of three works, BROM will be shown at Norrlandsoperan Vita Kuben in Umeå, Sweden. This exhibition is supported by a contribution from the SPOT Individual Exhibition grant.
