In 1992, Krijn Giezen proposed to 'cleanse' the Haagse Beek. For the Artivisual Landscapes conference, he was invited by the IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) to develop a vision. By 2000, the time was right, and the municipality and the Hoogheemraadschap undertook cleaning actions. As a result, Giezen's original plan—to make the Haagse Beek visible—was realized at the beginning of 2000. On this occasion, an annex featuring a selection of Krijn Giezen's public space projects (1980-2000) was published on Stroom's website.
