Jeroen Hoogstraten, 2009

Location: Prinses Marijkeschool, Abraham van Beyerenstraat 1c, The Hague

Jeroen Hoogstraten designed a seating and play object for children, teachers and waiting parents at the Prinses Marijkeschool. The work consists of five circular benches made of coloured polyester on stainless steel legs. Due to the specific placement in relation to each other and the subtle differences in height, the benches invite to be used playfully. Around the benches, pictures are visible that indicate the cardinal directions; besides an educational element, a reference to the school's identity with students from all over the world.
