At 's Gravendreef College, it looks like a party has just ended or is about to begin. On the enormous schoolyard of the new 's Gravendreef College, Hester Oerlemans has constructed a stand made of hundreds of stacked beer and lemonade crates. The crates are turned upside down and filled with concrete. This creates a smooth bottom (and makes it more comfortable to sit on), while the pattern remains visible. The crate is given a new function: its origin is still evident, but the different colors, stacking, and various concatenations of patterns make it a unique visual experience.
Performances can take place on the stand, and it can be used for sitting or hanging. Additionally, the stand is interactive: it includes a radio with a card reader and speakers, where a USB stick can be plugged in so that students can share their music with each other.
