Edwin Janssen made a school plate of paper on linen, with the reproduction of the painting “Monkey School” by David Teniers the Younger, with the text: “Monkey Business, Apestreek and Naäpen.
In other works as well, Janssen relates the doings of 20th-century man to the ape. 'Homo sapiens is both admirable and repulsive. He produces wonderful things in the fields of art and science, but at the same time is capable of destroying millions of his kind and polluting his habitat beyond repair.'
