Oproep inschrijving atelierbezoek Marco Scotini op 30 september en 1 oktober 2013

Stroom nodigt sinds 2006 regelmatig curatoren, kunstenaars en critici uit binnen- en buitenland uit om atelierbezoeken af te leggen bij Haagse kunstenaars. Het atelierbezoek biedt de kunstenaar de gelegenheid om zich met zijn/ haar werk te presenteren. Het vormt een gelegenheid tot opbouwende kritische reflectie op het werk in een gedachtenwisseling met een gekwalificeerde expert. En in het verlengde hiervan wordt natuurlijk de bekendheid met het werk gestimuleerd.

Op maandag 30 september en dinsdag 1 oktober a.s. zal Marco Scotini, onafhankelijk curator en kunstcriticus, een aantal atelierbezoeken afleggen bij kunstenaars in Den Haag.
Marco Scotini omschrijft zijn interessegebied als volgt: "I would be firsthand interested in art and artists that deal with a relationship between art, activism and politics; art practices and the ecology; art in relationship to history and memory."

Als u geïnteresseerd bent in een atelierbezoek van Marco Scotini kunt u dat uiterlijk donderdag 12 september a.s. laten weten via een emailbericht aan Mischa Poppe.

Wij vragen u daarbij om uw interesse voor het bezoek kort te motiveren.
De binnengekomen reacties worden samen met suggesties vanuit Stroom aan Marco Scotini voorgelegd. Uit de lijst zal hij een keuze maken op basis waarvan het bezoekprogramma zal worden samengesteld.

Korte biografie Marco Scotini
Marco Scotini is an independent curator and art critic based in Milan. He is the Director of the department of Visual Arts and Director of the MA of Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at NABA in Milan. He is Editor-in-Chief of the magazine No Order. Art in a Post-Fordist Society (Archive Books, Berlin), and Director of the Gianni Colombo Archive (Milan). He is one of the founding members of Isola Art and Community Center in Milan. His writings can be found in periodicals such as Moscow Art Magazine, Springerin, Flash Art, Domus, Manifesta Journal, Kaleidoscope, Brumaria, Chto Delat?/What is to be done?, and Alfabeta2. His most recent exhibitions include the ongoing project Disobedience Archive (Berlin, Mexico DF, Nottingham, Bucharest, Atlanta, Boston, Umea, Copenhagen, Turin 2005-2013), A History of Irritated Material (Raven Row, London 2010) co-curated with Lars Bang Larsen and Gianni Colombo (Castello di Rivoli, Turin, 2009), co-curated with Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev. He has curated more than 100 solo shows or retrospective exhibitions of artists such as: Santiago Sierra, Deimantas Narkevicius, Jaan Toomik, Ion Grigorescu, Regina Josè Galindo, Gianni Motti, Anibal Lopez, Said Atabekov, Alimian Jorobaev, Vangelis Vlahos, Maria Papadimitriou, Armando Lulaj, Bert Theis and many others.

His last exhibition Disobedience Archive (The Republic) for the Castello di Rivoli (Turin) is still open to the public and he is currently working on an exhibition project dedicated to the art from Eastern Europe, to open in January of 2014 in Bologna.
