Artist statement: Jorrit Paaijmans (Premium)
Being trained as a draughtsman at Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, Jorrit Paaijmans (1979) has explored the drawing medium in both theory and practice. In his pursuit of an objective and formally abstract way of drawing he has radically moved away from traditional drawing materials and methods. With his exploration of the artistic possibilities of mechanics, Paaijmans questions and in doing so, actually changes the definition of what drawing is or can be.
