With the demolition of a number of housing blocks an unfortunate area was created in terms of urban development, with an illogical pedestrian passageway. Korteweg was involved in the design and arranged for the placement of seven street lanterns with energy saving lights connected by a white steel trellis that runs the length of the route.
The intention was for fast growing ivy to create a green wall; despite repeated attempts, it never got the opportunity to take root.
