Jan van de Pavert, Ministry, 2002

Center of The Hague: Spui - Grote Markstraat - Kalvermarkt

Part of The Sculpture Gallery

There are buildings all over the sculptures of Jan van de Pavert (1960). He makes computer animations with imaginary architecture, sculptures that look like scale models and small buildings the audience can enter. This sculpture refers to the Ministries of the Interior and Justice from 1977. These buildings are reminiscent of the sleek modern architecture from the post-World War II years. These buildings are gradually disappearing from our streets. That is why Van de Pavert built this monument in their honour.
