Part of The Sculpture Gallery

Unveiling: Tuesday 2 September 2014, 16.30 hrs
in concurrence with the opening of the exhibition Sculptures of the City Centre in Atrium City Hall

Late at night when the shops are closed and the streets are deserted, the center of The Hague comes to life again. This is the hour when the gods of the city center wander around town. Ingrid Mol (1970) told this story to the elementary school children she invited to make a statue for the twelve gods of the city center. Different aspects of the city (fashion, money, food, transport) were each transformed into a specific god. The children made drawings of their favourite gods. Mol used these sketches to create her sculpture.
