The Aanmoedigingsprijs 2002 was awarded to: Gamal Ez (department of visual arts); Ruchama Noorda (department of visual arts).

The award is given by Stroom Den Haag to selected students as a special incentive upon their graduation from the Royal Academy in The Hague.

In addition 5 more students were nominated: Arthur Ivens (department of Image and Sound), Marieke Klos (department of visual arts), Diana van der Ley (department of photography), Erika Schneider (department of graphic design), Rufus de Vries (department of photography).
