A Fan Day is an opportunity to share personal experiences, it is not a
symposium with talks and lectures. What does Lina Bo Bardi mean to you personally, or to you as an artist, designer or researcher. The Lina Bo Bardi Fan
Day we organize in collaboration with artist Wendelien van Oldenborgh
and various Bo
Bardi Fans like Marcelo Rezende, Mike Cooter, Finn Beames, Mark Pimlott, Max Risselada, Laura Smith, Krijn Christaansen en Jorn Konijn looks at Bo Bardi's work from various angles.
Lina Bo Bardi loved to talk with people. Her Sunday brunches were known to result in lively conversations around the fireplace in her Casa de Vidro. Let us turn Stroom into Lina Bo Bardi's livingroom on Saturday 2 July. An afternoon to talk to interesting people and to watch great films on Bo Bardi. And there will be the launch of a special publication, a performance everyone can participate in; food and drinks will be served and there will be nice Brazilian music.
From 12 noon there is a continuous showing of various films and documentaires:
Marcelo Machado, The Political Architecture of Lina Bo Bardi (Unhão, MASP, SESC), 2014 (90 min.)
Aurélio Michiles and Isa Grinspun Ferraz, Lina Bo Bardi, 1993 (50 min.)

* MASS is a live performance -- which may leave an
installation behind it -- in which an audience inhabits and alters a
material landscape. Layered with music and text, the piece takes what
seems to be an immutable object and explores its plasticity, to ask
questions about our relationships with built environments and our
capacity to effect change within them.
The piece (which is still
under development) was initially a response to some research undertaken
by Finn Beames in Brazil, as part of the Lina Bo Bardi Fellowship 2015.
Awarded by the British Council, this Fellowship promotes the exploration
of Bo Bardi's work and her impact on culture as it is still felt today.
This showing is supported by the British Council and Stroom Den Haag,
and produced by London-based live arts company Oedipa.
The first Lina Bo Bardi Fan Day took place in November 2010 as part of Van Oldenborghs presentation Lina Bo Bardi: The Didactic Room in the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven.
