Ondertussen: Eavesdropping

29 July thru 16 September 2012
Location: Hogewal 1-9, The Hague
Open: Monday-Friday: 11 am-5 pm; Saturday-Sunday: 12 noon-5 pm

In October 2011 Matteo Marangoni organized the festival Eavesdropping in Villa K, the former Embassy of the Congo Republic in The Hague. For this occasion a number of sound artists and composers were invited to create and show on site interventions. The artists were requested to present an installation or performance that could only be experienced from the outside of the space it was designed for. Each artist was given a specific location inside the building. The audience was free to move around and to listen to the various sounds.

Ondertussen
The former reception area of Stroom has been converted into a small exhibition space. On a regular basis there are presentations of artists who have received a subsidy in the categories Stroom PRO- and SPOT-grants. The informal exhibitions and presentations are intended to illustrate the diversity of the Stroom grant system. The program in the space is called Ondertussen (Meanwhile).
