is the Monthly Designers Café at Stroom Den Haag i.c.w. BNO Kring Groot Den Haag.

The exploitation of natural rubber in South-East Asia for early telecommunication contributed to the tax havens of today, with the British Empire as a catalyst, says Femke Herregraven. Financial technologies and infrastructure carve out new geographies, value systems and legislation. Trained as a designer at Artez Arnhem, Femke Herregraven explores these transitions and creates models and metaphors to reveal them. Her work consists of drawings, prints, games, websites, sculptures, video works and installations.

Femke Herregraven's work was shown recently at V&A, ZKM Center for Art and Media, Witte de With, Centre Pompidou, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Transmediale, SMBA, CCS Bard. She taught at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, Design Academy Eindhoven, and currently teaches at Artez Arnhem and the Rietveld, Amsterdam. This January she started a two-year residency at the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam.
