Zefir7 is the Monthly Designers Café at Stroom Den Haag in collaboration with BNO. This time the spotlight is on Cool Coding, with special guests Rudi van Delden & Daniël Siegersma and Studio Pointer*. Both teams will tell about the current state of their web-based projects. You can attend via YouTube. You can attend via YouTube.

Rudi van Delden and Daniël Siegersma followed up a scenic road trip through the southernmost part of The Netherlands to document Lourdes grottos with the creation of the virtual grotto generator. Currently, they are working together on a documentary on neo-Gothic dog kennels, mock ruins, and other architectural follies. This film will also show the succes or flop of the construction of their own folly.

Studio Pointer* is going to present a selection of past and ongoing projects. Most recently, they have been working as members of the Lithuanian Space Agency, a collaborative fictional organisation which is founded by artist Julijonas Urbonas and researches space architecture and gravitational aesthetics. At the LSA, they worked on a dynamic gravity-inspired lettering and developed a real-time 3D scanner along with astrophysical simulations of human bodies in space.
Next to that, they will share their other work that primarily comes out of their numerous experiments with digital media.

More information about the guests

Daniël Siegersma
As a photographer, Daniël Siegersma is interested in local stories and how they relate to our current existence. His projects develop in a fairly organic way. He gathers information around a group of connoisseurs, enthusiasts, amateurs, experts, and local experts. These people are frames of reference and sometimes also characters in his stories. His work intends to raise questions about local culture, tradition, and how people use their time. Are these stories only relevant in the regions where they originated? And how do these stories correspond with other parts of the country?

Rudi van Delden
Rudi van Delden graduated from the graphic design department of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2018 and works as a graphic designer on commissioned and self-initiated projects. She is interested in experiences of domesticity. Recurring subjects in her work are the room, repetition, and the management and maintenance of mundane possession.

Studio Pointer*
Studio Pointer* is an interactive media and graphic design studio by Asya Sukhorukova (RU) and Jakob Schlötter (DE) based in The Hague. Together they search for undiscovered treasures across the ever-evolving new media landscape and create work that ranges from experimental websites to complex digital environments and interactive installations, from software and hardware to printed matter. Since the beginning of their collaborative practice in 2018, Asya and Jakob have created generative cinematic experiences, crossbred animated creatures, worked on a real-time 3D scanner, programmed astrophysical simulation.
