We should get accustomed
To the idea that our identity
Is going to change on contact with the Other
-- Édouard Glissant

As part of Uncertainty Seminars: Not Getting It, this reading group and workshop deal with the strategies as well as the problematics of (in)visibility relating to the way societies allow for (in)equality. The material in the program zooms in on alternative ways of ‘knowing' and the task of Listening as a strategy to break open the modern control over a singular narrative and a chronology. The program is developed by Davide Sanvee, Francisca Khamis and Tina Reden from Decolonial Futures, an extracurricular program at Rietveld/Sandberg Institute in collaboration with Funda Art College in Soweto, SA.

We will be focusing on excerpts of Buen Vivir, Relationality and the Task of Listening (Rolando Vazquez).
One World in Relation with Édouard Glissant (Manthia Diawaras) and Pilgrimages, Peregrinajes (Maria Lugones).
