This year's BAD Award winners will be announced at the award ceremony hosted by ZonMW at Stroom Den Haag. An independent jury will decide upon the most innovative and promising bio-art projects, selected from 16 nominees. Three hybrid teams of designers and scientific researchers will be selected as winners and are granted €25.000,- to realize their proposals in the next six months. An exhibition at MU in Eindhoven will present the artworks to the public, on show from 30 November 2018.

After a welcome and introduction, twelve teams of international artists, designers and scientists pitch their plans for an art project to the expert jury, press and public. Subsequently, jury chairman William Myers (curator and writer) will announce the three winners of the BAD Award 2018.

About the BAD Award
The Bio Art & Design Award, BAD Award for short, is a unique competition that aims at stimulating young artists and designers from The Netherlands and abroad to experiment with bioart and design and to collaborate with renowned Dutch science centers. The Bio Art & Design Award highlights and explores exciting new intersections among design, artistic practice and the Life Sciences. The Award is a product of collaboration between ZonMW, NWO, MU and BioArt Laboratories.
