Zefir7 is the Monthly Designers Café at Stroom Den Haag i.c.w. BNO Kring Groot Den Haag. This time NEW SIGNATURES '18: Zefir7 hand picked seven design graduates to present their projects. With: Alexander van Bakel (Rietveld Academie); Beatriz Conefrey & Zuzana Kostelanská (Rietveld Academie); Hanneke Klaver (ArtEZ Arnhem); Mikki Schellevis (HKU Utrecht); Puck Litaay (WdKA Rotterdam); Sydney Rahimtoola (KABK Den Haag)

MORE INFORMATION:

Alexander van Bakel - Gerrit Rietveld Academie
- Paradise found
Link the overwhelmingly simple principles that defines modernist architecture with the equally simple standard Minecraft Block as a cosmological constant, press repeat, and you end up in the visual expression of a hyper-architectural world, so modern that humans can only survive as question marks.

Beatriz Conefrey and Zuzana Kostelanská - Gerrit Rietveld Academie
- Lost tape Lectures
Not entirely understanding what it means to suddenly be a graphic designer after graduation, fragments of existing lectures were turned into a well arranged performance. There are six acts and graphic jargon floats on the groove of rap rhythms.

Hanneke Klaver - ArteZ Arnhem
- Catch Air
Sensitive and playful investigation into communication sounds not really playful enough for the accessories and devices that were made to enlarge and empower gesturing and facial expression modes. New language begins here, with whistles that shrink by blowing.

Mikki Schellevis - HKU Utrecht
- Orchestrated Appetite
The upcoming of mass media in the 20th century, has led to an immense shift in our consumer behaviour. We have built an entire system, an image mediated culture that surrounds the original product. Slowly, we have distanced ourselves from what we actually consume: the object.
In Orchestrated Appetite our food culture and consumerism is studied surfing on the surface of time and reflected in print and on screen.

Puck Litaay - WdKA Rotterdam
- A Death in the Family - A film about the future of media
What does a future look like when the way we consume media becomes more personal by the minute? ‘A Death in the Family' is a dystopian trend forecast to show people the dangers of a possible future where hyper- personalisation is the status quo.

Sydney Rahimtoola - KABK Den Haag
- I Forgot How to Speak Spanish - film
Sydney was born and raised in Queens, NY - full of migrants coming from Latin America. Her family is from the Dominican Republic. They moved to the U.S. for a better life. She is confused, alienated about her identity. This is the result of her world. How she perceives this community as a member; using her family as actors, giving them a platform in this story. Yet, She plays the role as an outsider: reducing them into caricatures.
