On Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 September 2022 Robbie Schweiger, freelance curator and researcher of collections at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam will visit the studios of The Hague artists.

About his areas of interest, he says the following:
"I am interested in the broadening of human and non-human perspectives and different systems of knowledge transfer. Themes that I have been interested in for quite some time are the gap between the prevailing language in academia/the art world and lived experiences, bio-politics, care ethics, ecology, pseudo-science, science fiction, decentralized technological developments (including metaverses and nfts) and the combination of art and activism"

Short biography Robbie Schweiger
Robbie Schweiger studied Art History at the University of Amsterdam and Russian and Eurasian Studies at Leiden University. Since 2017 he initiates and curates research and exhibition projects in the Netherlands and abroad. His exhibitions focus on and mostly take place in the (semi) public space, in parks, nightclubs, cinemas, on ferries, on facades and balconies and in the metaverse. Later this year, his book Beginning in Middle: Conversations on the Post-Soviet will be published. This interview series with artists working with/from a post-Soviet context, which he worked on with art historian Elsbeth Dekker for the past year, is published Jap Sam Books. In addition to his work as a freelance curator and writer, he works as a researcher of collections (archive, library and art collection) at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. For his research for the Stedelijk on artist networks in Central Asia, he received a NWO Museum grant in 2021.

About the studio visiting program
Since 2006, on a regular basis Stroom invites curators, artists and critics from The Netherlands and abroad to visit the studios of artists in The Hague. These studio visits offer an opportunity for artists to present their work and receive constructive feedback on their practice. The program also aims to strengthen and broaden the artists' network.
