Saturday 7 October 2023, 20:00 - 01:00 hrs
Stroom Den Haag, Hogewal 1-9, The Hague
Entrance: with Museumnacht wristband

During Museumnacht Den Haag on Saturday 7 October 2023, Stroom Den Haag presents a special video program in the entrance hall with work by artists and creators from The Hague who respond to the theme of Positons: Afterlives, and will we be open for a late-night visit to the exhibition Speelruimte.

Positions: Afterlives is a series of events in which artists present imaginations of the impact of the Dutch and Hague colonial past in the present. The video program during Museumnacht is the kick-off of the program.

This year marks 150 years since the Dutch abolition of slavery. At a time when more attention is being drawn to
commemorating this, it seems natural that monuments, street names and statues, which currently refer to a particular version of history, should also be updated. For the video program, we invite artists from The Hague to present imaginations of the impact of the Dutch and Hague colonial past in the present.

The program is as follows:
- Jiyoung Yim and Lou Kim, The Circle as a Place (2023)
- Yan-Zhi Kang, I tried to carry a statue with me (2023)
- Georgie Brinkman, Audrey & I, our histories tied (2022)
- Aileen Ye, beast (2022)
- Jakob Ganslmeier and Onias Landveld, A Mirrored Image (2022)
