This Peace Palace Library Lecture (related to the Peace Palace Centenary) was organized by the Peace Palace in cooperation with Stroom Den Haag (in the context of See You in The Hague) and the Haags Historisch Museum.

PROGRAM:

Geert Somsen - The Hague, World Capital of Science. Pieter Eijkman's Campaigns for Global Government on a Scientific Basis
Geert Somsen teaches history of science at Maastricht University. His research focuses on the role of science in theories of government, particularly international government.

Frank Weijzen - The Hague, Current Lay-Out of the International City of Peace and Justice
Frank Weijzen is senior urban designer at the City of The Hague.

Steven van Schuppen - The Hague, from World Capital of Internationalism to EURandstad, a Spatial and Political Development of the West after 2 World Wars and the Cold War
Steven van Schuppen is a researcher and author publicist in the field of landscape, history, mentality and spatial development.

After the lectures the audience was invited to participate in a short guided tour through the Peace Palace.
