The work of Thomas van Linge specifically manifests itself in three-dimensional space -  in the form of objects and installations - but is not restricted to one specific medium. He loves to work with industrial materials like steel, concrete, plastics and polyurethanes, materials he approaches and handles with great craftmanship. His work includes all kinds of references to nature, science, culture and other domains. In his eyes the boundaries between the various areas are getting more and more blurred. His work gives expression to this approach and offers us new leads to relate to the world around us.

In 2014 Thomas van Linge received an Invest subsidy for his extensive, indepth and experimental research into the use of materials. The results of these experiments were later used in his solo exhibition at Galerie Rianne Groen in Rotterdam and during a residency at Sundaymorning@EKWC in Den Bosch, which both took place later in 2014.

In his Ondertussen presentation Thomas van Linge shows a number of experiments with material and form, that could lead to the creation of new works.

Ondertussen
The former reception area of Stroom has been converted into a small exhibition space. On a regular basis there are presentations of artists who have received a subsidy in the categories Stroom PRO- and SPOT-grants. The informal exhibitions and presentations are intended to illustrate the diversity of the Stroom grant system. The program in the space is called Ondertussen (the Dutch word for 'meanwhile').
